Air New Zealand AirID terms & conditions
Please read the terms and conditions carefully as they form a legally binding agreement between you and us about your creation and use of the AirID.
By creating and using an AirID you are agreeing to these terms.
1. Account creation
You will need to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration. As this account will be linked to your travel bookings, it is important that the information provided matches that on the travel documents you are using (e.g., passport). You need to maintain and promptly update your information to keep it accurate and complete.
If you fail to do this, you may not receive notifications or communications from us about your account or purchases.
You must be at least 13 years old to manage your own AirID.
2. Account security
You are responsible for keeping your AirID secure. This means you must:
- Set and maintain a secure pin or password
- Keep your credentials (username and password/pin) super-secret
- Complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) and not share your details (passkey)
If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your password or any other details that may allow access to your account, you can call us 24/7 on 0800 737 000, or if you're calling from outside of New Zealand, find your nearest contact centre number.
3. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. For information about Air New Zealand's privacy practices, including how you can view, correct or delete your personal information please see our Privacy Statement.
4. Preferences
Within your AirID you will have the opportunity to set marketing preferences. If you ever want to opt out or adjust your marketing preferences, you can do so in your account settings. We respect your choices and won't hassle you unnecessarily.
Some preferences linked to your AirID will be related to other products or services you have signed up for with Air NZ, for example, Airpoints. To understand how those preferences are managed please see the relevant terms and conditions for those products.
5. User conduct
You must only use the AirID for its intended purpose, i.e. accessing Air New Zealand products and services.
We know it's obvious, but you must not use your AirID for malicious, unlawful purposes (e.g. hacking, introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs, or other technologically harmful material or carrying out denial of service attacks, etc) or otherwise mess with our tech or functionality.
6. Termination
6.1 Delete your AirID account
You can delete some information we hold about you. You can do this from the Profile section of your AirID Account by removing information in fields that are not mandatory.
If the information you want to delete cannot be found or you are unable to delete it yourself, you can request it be deleted by contacting us through our online request form.
We mark AirID accounts as inactive if it has not been used within 5 years and reserve the right to delete inactive accounts and any data associated with the account.
If you violate these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account.
7. Updates
We might update these Terms from time to time. We'll usually give you a heads-up, but it's a good idea to review them occasionally.
If these Terms are translated into a language other than English, and a conflict arises between the English version and the translation, the English Version shall take precedence. In simpler terms, if there's a dispute, English is the final authority.
8. Liability
Subject to applicable consumer protection laws and to the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that we will have no liability to you for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with these terms and the AirID.
9. Legal
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. The courts of New Zealand will have exclusive jurisdiction for hearing disputes.
Where you are a consumer, you will also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident. Nothing in these Conditions, including this section 9, affects any rights you may have as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions of local law.
