Koru membership fee increases FAQs

This increase is necessary to cover the increasing operational costs of the programme and its benefits and allows us to continue to offer the broad range of benefits that our members value.

We've designed Koru to help make every journey more comfortable and seamless, offering lounge access to Air New Zealand Lounges and Partner Lounges, along with a range of other frequent flyer benefits such as:

• Lounge access for 1 guest travelling with the Koru member
• Priority check-in
• One complimentary additional checked bag (when travelling on a fare that includes checked luggage)
• Priority checked baggage
• Fast Bag on regional flights
• Complimentary Frequent Flyer seating

From 2 April 2026, Koru membership fees will increase by approximately 5% across membership types, including annual membership, joining fees and add-on Extra Guest options.

Selected Airpoints™ earning credit card products will still offer a discount of $145 off the 1 year individual membership fee, in addition to joining fee waiver of $270.

The last price increase was implemented on April 2024 and is reviewed on a regular basis.

We are providing members within the renewal period (two months before the expiry date and/or no later than one month after the expiry date) with advanced notice of this change. 

No, you'll continue to receive all the great benefits of your Koru membership.

If you have an Airpoints Platinum or Business credit card that offers a discount off Koru membership, the same discount of $145 will continue to be offered, the discount is taken off the 1 year individual membership rate.

The joining fee waiver also continues to apply, providing an additional saving of $270.

If you currently have an active Koru membership, you can renew your membership within 60 days of your membership expiry date. This allows you time to renew your membership ahead of travel. For more information on membership renewals, please refer to the Koru Programme Terms and Conditions.

From 2 April 2026, the adjustment will also apply to Koru Corporate membership fees.  Please speak to your Air New Zealand business representative on how these changes affect you.
